It's just a thought...but could I have discovered the secret of Mother's Day happiness?
One thing is certain; things seem better when I lower my expectations.
Which means that this year, when offspring are thin on the ground, I appreciate anything and everything and most importantly everybody. It works much better if I regard it as Mothers-Day-to-do-what-a-Mother-does.
(and to be truthful, I never really enjoyed soggy cornflakes in bed!)

Middles are funny things; middle child, middle of the road, middle England, middle of nowhere..... and mothers are often in the middle of something. This one is in the middle of conjuring with some new ideas....

To be honest, I couldn't care less about Mother's Day. I think it's all a big con - just don't tell this lot, will you?
Lowering your expectations is something that I find I am having to do. You know what? I am just as happy.
