Perhaps it's a good thing to have real people attaching me to real life. Like crazy vapour trails, there are simply so many loose ends to be connected, some will surely lead me into a wilderness, others may eventually be woven together to form a mesh capable of holding something of some value. One thing is certain, there's no chance of exhausting the supply of things to do.

Making connections
A dreadful thought has occurred to me. Just who DO I think I am? What on earth gave me the idea that I could switch codes, cross boundaries, leap several light years and transform myself into a super-breed of 'mature' student? Here I am, nearly two months in, simultaneously ploughing my way through endless new tasks; mapping skills and setting targets, guessing what level of responses are required on an ethics application, wading through a quagmire of published material, twisting my brain through spiralling hoops of new concepts and half-understood constructs while at the same time slipping in and out of normal life.
