I must be the most erratic gardener for miles; I’m either thoroughly immersed in the task or ignore it completely. A few days ago I realised that just passing through the garden was no longer adequate. Somewhere under the rotting stalks and twiggy bits, stirrings of brilliant green were appearing and a chaotic distribution of self-seedlings threatened to leap away beyond control. Desperate measures were called for to redeem the situation. I find random ponderings while getting into the soil hugely relaxing, re-establishing some order to the confusion and perfect blooms an added bonus. Having cleared the debris, and decided that some of the ‘look-alikes’ which have been sidling up alongside the flowers are imposters, now I can enjoy the dancing colours and plan a trip to the garden centre to fill in the gaps....and I could use a manicure!

Hi SMS - just called to say thanks for visiting! Your garden looks much better than mine. Although, in all honesty, that's not difficult....
